We’re working on behalf of a Luxury Travel company in the UK based in Clapham Junction, looking for an SEO (& Content) Manager to join their rapidly growing Digital Marketing team.

The company prides themselves on being a great place to work, positioned in a rapidly growing area of the Travel market they have doubled in size over the last 2 years going from 22 employees to just under 50. They don’t forecast this growth slowing down so they need talented Digital people to fuel this continued growth. They have just promoted a new Head of Digital to deliver best in class digital marketing activities and rapidly grow a skilled Digital team. They are looking for an in-house Manager/expert to work with multiple members of the team and be responsible for broad SEO projects as well as take responsibility for a junior copywriter within the team and the Content agency.

The Travel company has evolved massively over the last couple of years and has grown rapidly by coming together and really focusing on the customer and it’s needs. Organic search is one of their primary traffic generation channels and is something the business is keen to invest it hence why they are looking for an SEO expert to bring a broad range of skills into the business and spur on a new era of growth.

The SEO Manager is responsible for maximizing the performance of search campaigns through monitoring and optimizing campaigns and helping to alleviate other team member workload. This role will work extensively with the wider Digital team to maximise the performance of content and raise the SEO ranking of the business organically as well as be responsible for the content strategy and make sure the content agency is performance is on point.

As an SEO (& Content) Manager, you need to function well as part of the team but also have the ability to work independently whilst communicating effectively and being open to guidance and advice from more experienced colleagues.

The role is responsible for:

SEO

  • Create an SEO roadmap and strategy to sustain business goals
  • Expert knowledge of offsite and onsite SEO tactics
  • Able to undertake technical, link and content audits to identify and address performance issues and optimisation opportunities
  • Undertake user-focused keyword research to highlights areas of potential growth, inform content strategy and optimisation
  • Maintain awareness of the industry and competitor’s activity to develop informed strategies
  • Support and oversee internal teams to make sure SEO best practices are followed
  • Manage relationship with agencies and freelancers to ensure projects are aligned with brand goals and delivered efficiently and on time
  • Measure and report on content and SEO performance

Content

  • You will play a pivotal role in delivering highly successful content strategies to increase the visibility of the website and position the brand as an expert in the market
  • You will be extremely motivated and goal driven to plan, implement and manage innovative strategies that will create assets for coverage, link building and social buzz
  • Demonstrable experience guiding the content creation process from ideation through execution
  • Work closely with our internal copywriter to ensure content is well optimised and in line with the voice and style of the brand
  • Demonstrated ability to research and implement SEO and Content strategies and understanding of how content affects organic rankings and traffic
  • Development and implementation of link-building campaigns that support the overall strategy
  • Implement outreach strategies to gain links and build brand visibility.
  • Ability to build and manage online communities and manage brand ambassador programs and blogger collaborations

Headquartered in the Clapham Junction (London) they are easily commutable from all mainline London stations.

Experience Required:

Several years experience planning & managing SEO and content campaigns, including:

  • Market, competitor and keyword analysis
  • On-page recommendations & technical audits
  • Content distribution strategy development & execution
  • Performance reporting on SEO campaigns
  • KPI focused and proven track record of increasing SEO performance
  • Knowledge of SEO and analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog, keyword monitoring tools
  • Clear understanding of best practice SEO and search engine guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Experience using WordPress and other CMS platforms
  • Project management skills and understanding of how to delegate effectively
  • Understanding of all digital channels and how they work together and impact the customer journey
  • Excellent written & oral communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with ability to manage complex and varied workload
