Role: Senior Direct Marketing Executive / Direct Marketing Manager

Salary: £35,000 to £50,000

The first question you likely have is: Why the 2 job titles?

The answer: Because this is a new appointment to the team, building out their offline direct marketing function. So they’re able to adapt the level to suit the person’s experience, credibility and career trajectory.

This is a classical direct response marketing remit, owning the end-to-end of a direct mail programme which is up and running. Taking on setup and build out of a couple of new channels, including test, refine and scale up of print media and inserts.

In terms of future development opportunities, you will be working in a team responsible for all offline direct response marketing, so you can also expect to pick up experience in DRTV, OOH and press media.

You will have the support of a BI team, providing you with reporting on channel performance, campaign ROI and customer data. You will be briefing in the data required and looking to draw actionable conclusions from their output. Looking to optimise and continuously improve the performance of campaigns, delivering increasing ROI and reducing CPA rates.

This is an emerging brand within the financial services sector. They offer a variety of products tailored to different audience types. Their products are monthly subscriptions-based propositions. They operate in a highly competitive market currently being disrupted by a number of smaller players taking market share from major incumbents. This firm represents one of those challenge brands making their mark and evolving the competitive landscape through more innovate propositions.

The marketing team is made up of digital and offline function, with this role sitting in the offline team. It’s currently a small unit but growing in scale as the complexity and sophistication of their marketing engine evolves. Currently it’s a team of 4, with this role reporting to the head of the division.

It’s a business with ambition, looking to enhance their acquisition engine and continue its growth success. Marketing plays a key role in achieving this, amplifying their brand, driving customer consideration with insight led value propositions to prospect audiences in order to drive acquisition and growth.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Solid offline direct marketing pedigree, with good knowledge of direct mail, door drops, inserts, press, etc.
  • Good understanding of the end to end campaign process
  • Data literate, able to draw meaning from campaign reporting in order to plan future campaigns, optimise channel performance and enhance future campaign activity
  • Identify, plan, test and evaluate new channel opportunities to further enhance a direct response programme
  • Able to evidence commercial impact and results from campaigns
  • Experience briefing and managing agencies and suppliers – enhancing those relationships and getting good results out of 3rd parties
  • Experience must be from a principally B2C environment
  • Must have the ability to live and work in the UK without the need for sponsorship
