This e-Gaming business has seen exceptional growth over the past few years. As they expand into more markets globally, they must extend their services. This provides an opportunity to explore new technologies, which is encouraged by the business as it will keep them at the forefront of new and emerging techs. This will also keep you involved in staying abreast of the latest technologies.

With extremely high levels of collaboration involved with every other team, the BI team is a very integral one to the business, with lots of responsibilities for a very hardworking, motivated, analytical minded and a real time problem solver.

You will be implementing Datawarehouse techniques and working with Business Intelligence, ETL & reporting tools. You must have really strong experience in Datawarehousing with a good understanding of dimensional data modelling (Star & Snowflakes), ETL, ELT. Knowledge / experience of statistical modelling and advanced data analysis will be an advantage. In a few months you will have a Jnr Data Analyst to work alongside you.

You will have to have excellent Power BI skills – it is the only BI reporting tool they currently use. Along with Power Bi Desktop / Services, you must have good Microsoft Azure Stack experience including (SQL server, Datawarehouse, DataFactory, Azure Functions, Data Catalog etc.), MS Excel, SQL Server Integration Services Tools.

You will report directly into the Head of Operations. There is a lot of autonomy in this role so being pro-active, being a self-starter and someone who can make recommendations to continually improve the BI teams’ services is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own reports & dashboard creation for all of the business units
  • Oversee the access, content distribution and licences to users on power bi / azure
  • Monitor BI processes, SSIS ETL packages, Data Factory pipeline triggers, Azure Functions
  • Continually seek to improve and optimise SQL Datawarehouse performance, Power BI daily refresh performance, monitoring system performance and downtime

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferably degree educated with BSc (Hons) in Computer Science or similar

KNOWLEDGE

  • Report creation & authoring
  • Datawarehouse techniques
  • Databases Management

SKILLS

  • Expert knowledge of T-SQL (SQL query, functions, stored procedures)
  • Power bi implementation, usage and report building across business units
  • Expert knowledge of DAX, Power Query M language, Excel, Power pivot & query
  • Relevant experience of using Azure analytics stack (including Data factory, Data catalog)
  • Good understanding dimensional data modelling (Star & Snowflakes), ETL, ELT
  • Some knowledge of statistical modelling and advanced data analysis
  • Good understanding of Agile process

EXPERIENCE

  • +4 years’ experience as a BI Developer
  • Experienced in Agile development environments preferred

You must be happy to travel in the job role. Occasional visits to other offices around the UK are essential, maybe causing the need for occasional overnight stays.

Once you pass probation, some flexibility can be offered in terms of remote working, such as 1 possibly 2 days from home. Relocation to another part of the UK is also an option in this role.

There will be a Power BI and SQL test to complete as part of the interview process.
