We’re working on behalf of one of the largest Travel companies in the UK. Looking to add a PR Manager to their Consumer Marketing function for a 12-month contract to play a key role in creating story ideas and campaigns which will gain positive coverage for the brand, as well as creative views and raising the profile of the business and its spokespeople.

This role reports to the Head of Consumer Communications and is part of a well-established team. You will take the lead on all PR activities for the business and be the go-to person for all PR related enquires for the Consumer facing business, this role requires a hands-on Public Relations individual who has an established and proven relationships with existing national and consumer media and the tenacity and determination to build new relationships and significantly increase the company’s media coverage

The role is responsible for:

  • Apply specialist PR knowledge and experience to create the PR and content strategy, vision and purpose.
  • Develop an annual PR communications plan, including attention-grabbing PR concepts that will get noticed by customers, to support the National Rail brand strategy and plan.
  • Deliver and report against agreed performance KPIs for awareness, perception and commercial targets.
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to engage audiences across traditional and new media, as well as building relationships with thought leaders to grow brand awareness.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within consumer media. Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Oversee the creation of relevant and engaging digital content for the marketing team.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting customers and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.

You will need to a strong stakeholder manager who understands how a complex business works and drive the best possible performance from them, alongside that you will need a strong commercial brain and be able to sift through the data present the results you have achieved.

You must be an experienced PR Professional with broad experience across PR & Communications and have in-depth knowledge of the Consumer PR and have a passion to achieve and drive a function forward. This is a great role for someone who is looking to build on solid experience and take on a challenging role.

The candidate should have an awareness of financial services regulations and compliance needs with regards to Consumer Investments.

Salary: £30k – £40k

Experience required:
– Journalism or PR experience, preferably in consumer PR
− Knowledge of the issues that impact on direct customers in the UK relating to Travel
− Experience of developing and managing PR campaigns and evidence of coverage achieved in the national press
− Excellent writing skills
− The ability to transform existing content into an interesting, digestible format suited to a consumer audience, as well as develop your own material for press releases, comments etc.
− Established relationships with national and trade media plus a desire to identify and pursue opportunities where the business can improve its media relationships
− Ability and confidence to guide and advise spokespeople where necessary
− Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
− An understanding of Social Media
− Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to work closely and effectively with other team members as required in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
– Resourceful, a quick learner who demonstrates initiative.
– Motivated team player, a desire to succeed and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
