Location: East London

Salary: £23,000 to £28,000

Benefits: Company bonus, generous annual leave (accrues up to 30 days with years of service), generous pension scheme to 12% company contribution

A large-scale housing development firm who’s recently undergone a merger and acquisition to become one of the largest of its type in the UK, is looking to appoint a Communications Assistant to support a busy Press Office. This is a new hire as part of an expansion of the Communications function to support the newly aligned organisation.

This opportunity would really suit someone with a clear passion to want to develop their career within PR and really interested in developing contacts within the press and media world.

The Remit

You will be working in support of the Communications Manager, working on a communications programme designed to promote and protect the company’s interests and its brand.

This will include:

  • Drafting and delivering press releases to key media outlets, and will include briefings and Q&A documents which are designed for distribution across local, regional, trade and national press
  • Work with the social media team on the creation and distributions of messaging to public
  • Maintenance of key media and stakeholder databases
  • Maintain the press log – updating on coverage achieved, its impact and brand exposure
  • Use media monitoring tools to keep abreast of story syndication and the impact of PR campaigns
  • Maintain the PR calendar of planned activity for the team. Ensuring transparency of campaigns in flight and pipeline
  • Content management of relevant sections of the website relating to press releases and public relations information

If you’re really keen on a career in PR and making what might be one of your first career moves as one to join a business with assets valued at more than £23bn.
