We’re recruiting for a Analysis Insight Manager to join a very high profile business who are getting serious with their customer data. This is a great opportunity for an inquiring mind who’s skilled with SAS and working with large volumes of complex customer data, and who’s looking for the variety of projects and lots of great business opportunities for personal and professional development.

One of the UK’s biggest consumer brand businesses and subscriptions type organisation is looking to engage a strong statistical analyst (Insight Manager) who is looking for their next step into a managerial position and who is open to considering a 12 month maternity cover contract.

This role will be a pivotal position within the analytics and insight function, responsible for big projects holding a lot of influence over the marketing and commercial teams, helping to focus their direction and strategy through data and insight.

Your work will have you interfacing with senior leadership across the Consumer teams (marketing and commercial functions) identifying opportunities for delivering improvements to business results (increasing customer value, managing churn, improving retention, spotting new opportunities from customer trends, etc), translating customer behaviour into trends and insights into compelling stories for what the business should do and ultimately what commercial impact this might deliver. This is a big business with millions of customers and through your input, you will help shape their business activities in response to key business challenges involving acquisition, retention and churn and customer value management.

You will need to be someone who’s at home translating business problems into structured analysis projects as well as being the story teller, going to the business and translating these complex analysis findings into compelling stories of action and direction.

The business is a SAS environment, so in this position it’s critical you have a strong, rounded knowledge of this tool as well as SQL.

On top of this you will need a varied statistical background and understanding complex modelling as well as data mining techniques.

To be successful, you will need to be able to work fluently with a variety of information sources, combining a strategic understanding of competitive and industry trends with qualitative feedback and line operations, as well as detailed analysis of customer data, both transactional and behavioural. You will be able to synthesize and articulate the insights arising from this information into coherent, market-facing strategies and will be able to motivate and lead the broader organisation to deliver on this strategic intent.

Role: Analysis Insight Manager
Location: Middlesex (TW postcode)
Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 (includes the £5k car allowance)
Benefits: Car allowance (as detailed above), up to 15% bonus, pension, flexi-bens package, etc.
Term: 12 months
Likelihood of extension/permanent: Medium to high – because of the term of the engagement and growth plans of the function, there’s strong potential for a permanent engagement to arise.


- Exceptional numerical capabilities, preferably demonstrated through academics
- Fluent with SAS Base, knowledge of EG or EM beneficial
- Knowledge of SQL
- Able to go beyond the data, influencing and informing the business through sound, data driven insight
- Commercially savvy, able to demonstrate where your work has positively impacted a business and understand how it plugs in
- Articulate and able to explain analysis findings in an engaging manner which doesn’t just appeal to other analysts, but are able to articulate it effectively to non-technical audiences too
- Excellent data and statistical analysis skills across a range of techniques from modelling, segmentation, decision trees, logistic regressions and data mining
- Able to conceptualise and articulate clear understanding of strategic insight
