Blue Pelican’s founders – Conrad, Gemma and Graham, planned 10 years ago to establish a recruitment organisation that they would be proud to work in as well as proud to own. The company’s founding principles were to focus on service based, consultative recruitment with candidate and client care at its heart, something that falls by the wayside in so many recruitment organisations where a highly pressurised sales environment and need to “do the deal” leads to standards slipping.

Within Blue Pelican, our consultants are focussed on one core or niche skill. They become experts within their market, and every candidate as well as client is important to them.

Surely to be an effective recruiter you need to develop long term relationships with your clients and candidates built on mutual trust and knowledge sharing ? We have found, working this way, that not only are our clients and candidates happy to work with us over and over again because they know they can trust us to deliver, but also that our consultants can sleep at night knowing that they have done a great job.

Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)

Blue Pelican are full REC members and have been since 2002.

‘The REC is the membership organisation dedicated to improving recruitment practice in the UK, both by setting standards for recruitment businesses to adhere to and by improving the knowledge and professionalism of individual consultants.’
On joining the REC, all members sign up to a ‘Code of Professional Practice’. This encompasses standards, operating ethically, being well informed and accountability.
The purpose of the code is to ensure all parties receive the highest recruitment standards. As a member we have been independently inspected meaning you can be sure our basic practices have been approved as safe and legal. We also receive regular updates on changes to the law so our knowledge is up to date.
