Become a Pelican

Since 2002 we Pelicans have sought to provide a recruitment service based on three key ingredients – Honesty, Knowledge and Service.
It sounds simple and you’d wonder why everyone isn’t doing it, but in our experience (and that, it seems, of our candidates and clients) there are still so many recruitment businesses that are all about ‘doing the deal’ and our industry continues to be viewed in a negative light.

13 years on we are proud to have built a team of awesome consultants who live and breathe those same ideals we set out with. We are all absolutely committed to ensuring that every person that we have contact with enjoys a positive experience and comes away feeling they have been treated well, even if we weren’t able to help them fill, or find, a position.

But don’t be fooled into thinking that these niceties mean you can’t be hugely successful !
Our consultants earn highly competitive basic salaries with benefits, as well as uncapped commission and additional bonuses. Benefits are dependant on your level, but can include:

They are genuinely able to progress their skills and their careers with us, making use of a personal annual training budget and ongoing daily support from their colleagues and the directors.

Working here isn’t for everyone and we are pretty picky about who we take on:
You must demonstrate an absolute passion for offering an enhanced level of service, whilst also being driven to continually improve your skills through ongoing training and development.
You must show us your commitment to investing time in developing an industry leading network of relevant candidates is paramount, ensuring that you can truly supply the best of the best to your clients.
You must be genuinely self motivated and goal driven, with a desire to deeply understand the niche market you work in so you can offer your candidates the best opportunities for their career development.

Having no previous experience in recruitment doesn’t mean you can’t show us these traits, and we offer a graduate training scheme that gives you all the skills you need to succeed in this fantasically rewarding industry. Full training is given from day one for at least six months whilst you develop a candidate and client base to take on when you are ready to move into an Associate Consultant role. From there you can gain promotion to Consultant, Senior Consultant and Principal Consultant before deciding whether Team Manager is where you want to go next. There are also mentoring opportunities or the ability to take on a Resourcer.
